So yesterday was the first day for turtle trapping. If the first day is representative of the the rest we are in for a long semester. The day was very eventful. We successfully placed the traps with only a few casualties. We almost lost a finger, a person, and a truck. It was great.
I’m so pumped about the research that our team is doing with the water quality at the wetland! We have new equipment and have started to collect data on a regular basis. fyi……warm weather=snakes.
We placed our turtle traps in Freed-Hardeman’s remaining two ponds. Should be catching a fair number of turtles very soon. Was sort a baptism by fire for our new guys. Roughest day we’ve had on this project in a while.
